It's Your Fault.

It's Your Fault., originally uploaded by BamaWester.

BamaWester describes himself as a "full-fledged, non-recovering waterfall-aholic," and with an ability to take amazing photos like this, it's no surprise! I am too a waterfall-alohic, I can't seem to get enough of photos of them! This photo is particularly beautiful as the water is so delicate as it heads towards the bottom. Thank you BamaWester for feeding my addiction! I hope you never "sober up"!

Night at the Opera (house)

Night at the Opera (house), originally uploaded by hhsc_2000/Greg.

Here's a very unique photo of the Sydney Opera House. While a magnificent piece of architecture to photograph, the starburst effect in this particular photo makes the scene extra special, in my opinion. Excellent work! Thanks for sharing it with us in A Big Fave!

Haven's door

Haven's door, originally uploaded by Pilou@ttitude.

I love the saturation and the square format used here. That is what caught my eye and made me take a closer look, but that's not why I blogged this. I love the concept that the title portrays: Heaven is an accessible place, a tangible location, a natural pastoral setting where people can actually go, not an inaccessible "Ivory tower" where only certain people go because they're more worthy in some way...

Softlight

Softlight, originally uploaded by the bbp.

I have a photo obsession with street lamps, and always have. I don't know why. I think maybe because we don't have beautiful romantic lights where I live, I can only find them in Europe. Either way, this is a great photo with amazing lighting!

Hey, it's not every day you find Tom Sawyer! Excellent portrait, really seems like it's from another time period, and the boy himself seems so at ease!

Candlelight Vigil for VTech tragedy

I feel that this photo captures how we as a nation felt the day we found 32 minds snuffed out before they were given their chance to show the world their greatness.

It's been a rough week for us here in the United States as we mourn another terrible tragedy. I don't know about anyone else, but I need a little peace at the moment. This beautiful photo made me feel tranquil. Thanks for being such a great community here at A Big Fave!

In Flanders Fields

by John McCrae, May 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep,
though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Spring is here. At least it is somewhere...
The beautifully saturated colors jumped right out of the pool and begged me to walk barefoot through the grass and onto the path that leads us right into the frame. Great work!

I saw this photo in a new members photo stream, and I immediately thought of the warm caramel nights in my home town, slow and lazy, but with a twinge of excitement for what ever the reason. This photo captures it right away... calming, yet exciting.

It okay to be sad on a rainy day

What can I say? I may officially be an adult, but I felt exactly like this little girl as another April day was wasted in cold, gray skies and rain. In my neck of the woods, winter is dragging on and spring is refusing to come! Is it true for you too? This fabulous photo made me smile. On another dreary day, at least we have Flickr friends we can share it with!

March 31st, 2006 - 21:26: Assemblée Nationale

Truly a "revolutionary" photo! One can almost hear the noise and excitement of the crowd, fighting for the people's rights today, just as they did at L'Assemblée Nationale over 200 years ago!

Fantastic moment, great lighting and a wonderfully historic photo!

Encore

Encore, originally uploaded by Mr Magoo ICU.

I really like this unique & creative photo. The photographer's description is even better because it gives the subject a background story of interest:
Suffering years of abuse at the hands of a mad pianist this fine piece of melody making machinery lies bruised and battered waiting for tender, gentle hands to come by and caress its keys once more.

This abstraction is just astounding. I love the blue and the way this is framed. The reflections of the other buildings, and the short panels at the bottom add a nice anchor to the bottom but allows the eye to be drawn up. The warped perspective is superb. Fantastic work!
